BTEC Level 2

We support fulfilling careers in the arts industry with our BTEC programmes. This course will equip an individual with the entry level skills required to follow a creative career. The BTEC level 2 qualifications are the equivalent of traditional GCSEs grades A*- C.
Course Content
BTEC Level 2 First Award in Performing Arts and Circus120 Guided Learning Hours (Actual 167 hours)
Format:
The course consists of 6 hours of weekly training during term time. During non term time there are intensive training sessions. These intensives deepen training and creative practice and allow for practical assessments.
These are set hours for the course to ensure all training, material and assessments are covered. However, we always seek further performance and training opportunities for the group to enhance their learning and professional experience.
Core Units:
Unit 1: Individual Showcase (externally assessed)
This unit includes a written application and two performance pieces in a chosen style or discipline. The aim is to perform the pieces in the context of an audition. The pieces are created in response to material released by the exam board.
Unit 2: Preparation, Performance and Production (internally assessed)
This unit focuses on the process of how to prepare and create a performance piece.
Unit 4: Dance Skills (internally assessed)
Course Fees
Either:
- 12 monthly payments of £167 (first payment due September 2021)
- Or, a one-off payment of £1760
This fee includes exam board and teaching fees.
