Circus Central’s BTEC training programme is now entering the fourth year of delivery. The programme has been designed specifically to support those who wish to enter circus as a career through a combination of theoretical and practical units of study.
Every learner shall follow a programme of a study that includes physical training and conditioning. Creative development, and the creation of individual and ensemble act alongside theoretical studies to develop the learner’s knowledge of roles within the arts
The course consists of 10 hours of weekly training sessions throughout term time, and intensive training and creative periods take place throughout non-term time where practical assessments and exams shall take place.
Learners in Year 1 will be required to take part in four core modules as well as specialize in a circus discipline of their choice in which they shall be able to create their own solo act.
Acts that are created throughout the course will be given the opportunity to be performed at a variety of local events throughout the year.

"Being on the BTEC has given me a chance to truly dedicate myself to focused training and act development in skills outside of my comfort zone. It's given me the chance to get feedback and guidance from experienced professionals that I admire. It's been hard at times, but I've made friends with some great people, I'm learning so much and I love doing it."- Mahum Butt, graduate 2015/16
"I was lucky enough this year to perform in a big top and a speigeltent, I wouldn’t have had these opportunities if it wasn't for Circus Central. Taking part in their BTEC has honestly changed my life..."- Hannah Wright, graduate 2016/17
